The SCWCO continues to introduce the Bay Area community to young, up-and-coming “bright light” artists and provide a great opportunity for creative individuals, parents, and students to make a positive difference in our community and the world.

Past Performance Review: This was not your typical choir concert, the 2010 group was multi-generational with 30-voice choir and accompanied by 17 musicians. The energetic program included: Desh, a dynamic, percussive Indian raga; O Magnum Mysterium by California composer Morten Lauridsen; Gloria in Excelsis Deo, an enrapturing Baroque piece by W. A. Mozart; Convidando, a holiday song of Colonial Latin America; Carol Medley, a Quincy Jones style arrangement; plus selections from China, Latvia, and Kenya. The SCWCO also debuted several original compositions and orchestral arrangements composed for this concert by director Bigger. In 2011, the concert featured the Watsonville Taiko Ensemble under the direction of Ikuyo Conant and other local guest musicians. every single performance by the Santa Cruz World Choir & Orchestra is excellent, colorful, and inspiring!
